Scrum Master → release train leadership
Scrum Master to release train leadership: SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), then SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM), then SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE). Median pay rises from $110K to $172K (+$62K) over a typical 18–24 months.
Start on one team, grow into team-of-teams, then run an Agile Release Train. The most-hired ladder in SAFe job postings — and the one most employers advertise under a title other than RTE.
