( 01 ) — Who it is for

When one Agile Release Train is not enough.

Some solutions are too large, too regulated or too interdependent for a single train to build. They need several ARTs, and often suppliers outside your own organisation, working to one solution intent and one cadence. This course is about coordinating that — the Large Solution Delivery discipline, and the Solution Train that carries it.

  • Release Train Engineers
  • Solution Train Engineers
  • Solution and systems architects
  • Programme and portfolio leaders
  • Supplier and partner managers

( 02 ) — What you will work on

Two days on the problems that only appear at scale.

Worked through against your own solution, not a case study. You leave with the artefacts started rather than described.

01

Recognising Large Solution scale

The signals that a single ART has stopped being the right container, and what changes the moment a second one is added.

02

The Solution Train

Roles, cadence and the events that keep several ARTs building one thing — and who is accountable for what between them.

03

Solution intent and capabilities

Holding a shared, current definition of the solution while it is still being designed, and splitting capabilities into features the trains can take.

04

Planning across trains

Pre- and post-PI Planning: how commitments are made, where dependencies surface, and how they are resolved without a central plan.

05

Suppliers inside the train

Bringing strategic suppliers into the cadence rather than managing them at arm’s length through a contract boundary.

06

Solution Demo and measurement

Integrating often enough to see the whole solution work, and measuring progress across trains rather than inside each one.

07

Regulated and complex delivery

Building the evidence a regulator or an auditor asks for as part of the flow, instead of assembling it afterwards.

( 03 ) — Before and after

Where this sits in the advanced track.

Most people arrive here having already run a train. Release Train Engineer is the natural course before it, and Implementing SAFe is the natural one after — this is the step between facilitating one train and leading the change across several.
