Overview

The Advanced SAFe Practice Consultant (ASPC) program has undergone a major evolution to elevate the learner experience and strengthen organizational impact. This revision—expanding the course from three days to four days—aligns with Scaled Agile’s ongoing commitment to ensure every ASPC emerges ready to lead at the enterprise level in a rapidly transforming, AI-driven world.

Starting in November 2025, the ASPC will transition from a 3-day format to a 4-day immersive experience, featuring deeper learning, AI integration, and advanced customization tools to empower your leadership in agile transformation.

What’s Changing in the ASPC Course

  • Expanded Curriculum (4 Days Total)
    • The course duration has been extended from 3 days to 4 days to allow for deeper facilitation, reflection, and real-world application.
    • Activities are optimized for both small group collaboration and remote learning environments.
  • Two New Core Content Areas
    • Embracing AI in SAFe Practice: Learners explore how to incorporate artificial intelligence into portfolio management, value stream alignment, and coaching workflows.
    • Customizing SAFe: ASPCs gain exclusive access to the Customizing SAFe Workshop, learning to tailor frameworks to unique enterprise contexts.
  • Narrative-Driven Learning Experience
    • A redesigned “Advanced SPC Story” anchors the new course, guiding participants through the challenges and opportunities of scaling agile practices across complex systems.
  • AI Integration Across the Entire Course
    • AI tools and case studies are now embedded throughout the modules to enhance decision-making, forecasting, and facilitation exercises.
  • Enhanced Access and Benefits
    • ASPCs receive exclusive entry to the Customizing SAFe workshop.
    • Completion of ASPC extends any active SPC certification automatically.

What’s Staying the Same

  • Modular and Flexible Design: Trainers retain flexibility to structure learning experiences across days or sessions.
  • Peer-to-Peer Learning: Collaboration, facilitation, and mutual coaching remain at the heart of the ASPC model.
  • Hands-on Application: All activities continue to focus on practical, real-world transformation scenarios.
  • Certification Continuity:
    • Attending ASPC automatically upgrades any SPC certification to SAFe 6.0.
    • Participants must have an active SPC certification to enroll.
    • Only SPCTs (SAFe Practice Consultant Trainers) are authorized to teach the ASPC program.

Transition Plan for Learners Who Completed the 3-Day Version

For Previously Certified ASPCs:

There are no conflicts or invalidations for those who completed the 3-day ASPC course. However, to align your certification badge and gain access to the new content, you must complete a one-time update session.

Upgrade Requirements:

  • Attend one of the official webinars to learn the new material:
    • November 5 — 3:00 PM–6:00 PM Mountain Time
    • November 6 — 8:00 AM–11:00 AM Mountain Time
  • If live attendance isn’t possible, you can watch the recorded session later to receive full upgrade recognition.
  • These sessions will cover:
    • Integration of AI into the ASPC framework
    • New course structure and pacing strategies
    • Guidance for trainers transitioning between the 3-day and 4-day materials
